GLADIATOR: QUEST FOR THE RUDIS

ARENA ACTION CARD

All the action in Gladiator: Quest for the Rudis is controlled by the Arena Action cards, a 100-card deck that, along with the other cards eliminate the need for special charts and tables, as well as dice rolling.

Each area on the card is used for a specific purpose during the game, with only a single reading taken off each card flipped.

  • Control: which gladiator initiates the action.

  • Card Check: whether the Attack card or Defend card is used

  • Random: a series of random numbers from 1d4 to 1d20 to be used at various times.

  • Location: defines the body part under attack, depending upon the gladiator's relative positions.

  • Land Hex: where a dropped, thrown or dislodged item lands.

  • Mitte!/Iugula! meaning "Let him live!" or "Kill him!" decides a gladiator's fate if the match ends with both combatants still breathing.
